Obituary for Rhea Ann Sherosky
Rhea Ann Sherosky passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 16th. She was born at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas on January 3rd, 1944 to LeRoy and Eloise Pederson. She attended Waco High School and was a lifelong resident of Waco other than a brief few years in Pennsylvania which convinced her she never cared to leave Texas again.
Rhea Ann began her career working in a Walgreens where she sold a sold a malfunctioning comb to a young Air Force serviceman, Edward E Sherosky. He returned it saying it didn’t work because he’d hoped buying it because it didn’t give him the courage to ask her out. The second comb worked much better and they got married on July 20th, 1963.
As the daughter of three girls, Rhea Ann was very involved in the Girls Scouts organization. She was a troop leader for many Speegleville troops, spent several summers cooking for the campers at Camp Kachina and eventually began working full time for the BlueBonnet Girls Scouts Council from 1987 until her retirement in 2007. Through her many volunteer hours, thousands of boxes of cookies ordered and delivered and frequent trips to schools all over central Texas she touched the lives of many girls, young ladies and women.
Rhea Ann was a wonderful mother and a doting Nana. She leaves behind her daughters, Judy Mosley and Husband Neil, Karen Sherosky Wilhite and Wife Melissa, and Angela Francis and husband, Dan. She was blessed with her grandchildren, Kristen Holub, Dustin Holub and wife Tanna, Jacob Wilhite and wife, Krysten, Matthew Wilhite and wife Claudia. She is lucky to have a gaggle of great-grand daughters, Katelyn, Adalynne, Jordyn, and twins Ava Rhea and Lily. She is also survived by her brother Randy Pederson and wife, Julie, and numerous nieces and nephews. And, while not necessarily official members of the family, many people who thought of her as Nana. She also left behind her beloved dog, Piper, who watched over her as well as any of us.
