Edward Garcia, Sr.
October 13, 1923 - May 28, 2006

Edward Garcia, Sr., 82, of Waco, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the Mighty Wind Worship Center with Pastor Joe Carbajal officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Edward was born October 13, 1923 to George and his loving mother, Eulojia Garcia. He was a retired construction foreman and attended Mighty Wind Worship Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Amanda Garcia; son, Guadalupe Garcia; brothers, Joe Garcia and Eli Garcia; sister-in-law, Betty Garcia; brother-in-law, Johnny Morales, and son-in-law, Danny Quintanilla.

He is survived by sons, Edward Garcia Jr. and wife, Ninfa, of Woodway, and Peter Garcia and wife, Olga, of Azle; daughters, Gloria Martinez of Ft. Worth, Susie Quintanilla of Houston, Grace Castilleja of Waco, and Violia Garcia of California; a grandson, George Edward Garcia and granddaughter, Antonnete Fernandez whom he raised; sisters, Lala Morales of Waco and Isabel Gomez and husband, Pete of Fort Worth, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson, Brandon Martinez; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Pete Anthony Garcia, Joe Edward Garcia, Robert Castilleja, Jr., Nicholas Fernandez, Benjamin Martinez, and George Edward Garcia.

Daddy we will miss you so much. We had you for 82 wonderful years. Our lives won't be the same without you. Special thanks to the family members who cared for him during the past few weeks of his life.
